Huawei and its Honor sub-brand continue to fill the market with smartphones with various technical parameters, presented in various price categories. Just a week after parent company Huawei unveiled the latest p-series flagships, Honor is showing off its Honor 30S model.

Although the Honor30S is the most affordable smartphone in the 30 series line, It has some unique technical characteristics, an original glass and aluminum body design, and a special 5G mode available thanks to the new processor.

One of the main advantages of Honor30S is the use of the Kirin 820 5G processor, created using 7-nm technology and received an integrated 2-mode 5g modem. The display with IPS matrix (HDR10+ and tuv Rheinland certificate) received a diagonal of 6.5 inches (FullHD+). The front camera (16 MP), according to modern design fashion, is embedded in a round small hole located in the upper left part of the display.

The rectangular module of the main camera receives four sensors and is placed in the upper left part of the back panel. Camera resolutions: main-64 MP (f / 1.8), wide – angle – 8 MP (f/2.4), telephoto-8 MP (f/2.4, 3x optical zoom), and macro-2 MP (f/2.4). Autonomous operation is provided by a 4000 mAh battery that supports fast charging and provides energy replenishment from 0 to 70% in 30 minutes.

The eight-core Kirin 820 processor (one ARM Cortex-A76 core at 2.36 GHz, three ARM Cortex-A76 cores at 2.22 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.84 GHz) provides a significant increase in power compared to previous chips. So Kirin 810 is inferior to the new processor in CPU performance by 27%, and in GPU performance by 38%. When working with artificial intelligence tasks, NPU performance increased by 73%. A 6-core GPU Mali-G57 processor is responsible for graphics processing.

Main camera with f/1.8 aperture and 26 mm focal length. A wide-angle lens with a focal length of 17 mm and a viewing angle of 120° received an 8 MP (f/2.4) camera. The second 8 MP (f/2.4) camera has a three-fold optical and twenty-fold digital zoom. And the fourth module 2 MP is designed to perform macro photography from a minimum distance of 4 cm The main camera supports AIS stabilization technology based on artificial intelligence.

The Honor 30S smartphone is traditionally delivered without Google services for Huawei, but it gets an alternative to Huawei’s own development (HMS) in the form of an AppGallery store that replaces Google Play. The Honor 30S comes pre-installed with the Android 10 operating system under the magic UI 3.1.1 proprietary shell.

The initial configuration of the Honor 30S with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory will be available for $ 340. For models with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, the price will increase to $ 380. Sales are scheduled to start on April 7.
